GUJRANWALA, Jan 4: Employees of the GDA and Wasa on Friday took out a rally against the management and observed a pen-down strike for not paying salaries according to new scales.

Carrying banners and placards inscribed with their demands, the protesters shouted slogans against the governing body.

They assembled outside GDA/Wasa offices and warned the authorities concerned that they would to go on an indefinite strike if their demands were not met.

Labour union leaders Waheed Iqbal Butt and Ehsanullah Cheema alleged that officers had drawn salaries according to the new scales.

GUNNED DOWN: An additional traffic moharrer was gunned down by his relatives over a domestic dispute here on Friday.

Headconstable Ghulam Hassan Butt was on his way home when Mubasher Hassan, Nazar Hassan and Zakaullah shot and killed him near Lahore Bypass.

Saddar police have registered a case and are investigating.
