PTI suspends activities for three days

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders on Monday condemned the bomb blast in Lahore that killed 26 people, including policemen, and announced suspending political activities in the central Punjab for three days.

PTI Secretary General Jahangir Tareen, central Punjab president Abdul Aleem Khan, information secretary Sumsam Bukhari, Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mahmoodur Rasheed, Chaudhry Sarwar and Ejaz Chaudhry condemned the blast and expressed concern over the death of the innocent people.

They said the enemies wanted to disrupt peace in the country but their nefarious designs would never be successful.

Stating that the incumbent government had failed to protect lives and property of the masses, the PTI leaders demanded the Punjab government provide quality medical care to the injured.

@MSAlvi Nothing to be sarcastic about. Three days to think for IK and his team of Ch. fawad how one dollar is equal to one Pound. For everybodies information a graduate Engineer used to earn between 1200 to 1400 Pounds per year. You think for yourself how much a cricketer earned in those days.

This nation will be better served if this silence is maintained till next years election time. Let the nation focus on other things and go about their normal life. Far too much of unwarranted and mostly uncalled for noise & agitation has impaired nation's productivity, business and economy already. Ours is a developing country which can not, I repeat can not afford 24X7X365 days of politics and media theatrics. The cost is just too high. On a serious note, can IK only stop politicking when people die an unfortunate death. Decision to delay political activities for three days means that people can live without hence it can and must be delayed for indefinite period specially by PTI as it has already dented the nation for far too long unnecessarily. Dawn please print this !!

Diplomatic move which I do appreciate since Imran announced three days suspension of all his political activities at such crisis time in Punjab in solidarity with those who for none of their fault were yesterday killed and injured in Lahore blast. As a purely neutral person I simply cannot help praising none but Imran as none but Imran is the only political leader showing such like humanitarian gesture toward the poor unfortunate victims.
