Rs2bn for operation theatres

LAHORE, Aug 10: A sum of Rs2 billion will be spent on upgradation of operation theatres of teaching hospitals in the Punjab during the current financial year.

According to Health Minister Dr Tahir Javed, an additional amount of Rs1.2 billion has been allocated to provide better medical facilities at teaching hospitals as the government has increased grant from Rs120 to Rs400 per bed per day.

He was presiding over a meeting held to review healthcare facilities available at the Services Hospital, says a press statement.
