LAHORE, Aug 10: Customs officials claimed on Sunday to have arrested a Bengali national and recovered six kilo heroin worth Rs60 million from him at Lahore airport.

A Customs official told Dawn that Haleem Miah was intercepted after his movement was found suspicious. His luggage was searched and six kilo heroin — three kilo brown and as many kilo white crystal — was seized from it.

He said the heroin was planned to be smuggled to France as the arrested smuggler was due to board a Paris-bound flight.
