ISLAMABAD, Aug 10: President of the People’s Party Parliamentarians Makhdoom Amin Fahim on Sunday hosted a dinner for the visiting Indian delegation of parliamentarians, journalists and intellectuals here.

Leaders of the PPP, Pakistan Muslim League-Q and other political parties as well as a large number of people attended the dinner.

The Indian delegation, including Laloo Prasad Yadav, Ram Vilas Paswan, Ram Jethmullani, is visiting Pakistan to attend a two-day-long conference organized by the South Asian Free Media Association.

Former chief minister of the Indian State of Bihar Laloo Prasad Yadav expressed the need for greater interaction between the people of the two countries.

He said: “We ... should promote brotherhood and friendship among the people of India and Pakistan so that the two countries can prosper and develop.”

Mr Laloo said people come and go but history would remember who worked for the prosperity of mankind.

Amin Fahim said the people of both the countries wanted cordial relations and resolution of all minor and major issues, including the Kashmir dispute.

Earlier, National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain hosted a luncheon reception in honour of delegates of Safma conference at a local hotel.—APP
