Rally staged against attack on MPA

NAWABSHAH, Aug 9: More than 1,500 activists of the People’s Party Parliamentarians took out a procession here on Saturday against an attack on MPA Ghulam Qadir Chandio and Taluka Nazim Ali Akbar Jamali.

The procession emerged from the local PPP office and after marching through the Sakrand Road, Lal Building Road and the Chakra Bazaar reached the press club.

Talking to the protesters, Nawabshah PPP acting president MPA Chandio said the Chief Minister House and the Governor House were trying to destroy the peaceful atmosphere of the city.

He demanded arrest of the people who had attacked the municipal office.

MPA Tariq Masood Arain, PPP general-secretary Imdad Dhamrah, city PPP president Dost Ali Rind and others fell unconscious due to scorching heat and were given medical aid.

A heavy contingent of the police was deployed in the city to avoid any untoward incident.

MUTTAHIDA: Muttahida Qaumi Movement acting zonal organizer Abdul Majeed has said his party was ready to ignore differences with other parties in the interest of residents and peace of Nawabshah.

He demanded withdrawal of an FIR registered against Muttahida activists.
