TIMERGARA: Residents of Kotigram village in Adenzai here on Friday demanded of the education department to take notice of the deteriorating condition of government girls high school and higher secondary school for boys in their area.

Talking to journalists at Chakdara, they said girl students were forced not to pick science subjects despite presence of science teachers.

They said the girls seeking admission in science subjects were being directed to go to government girls high school Ouch that lied miles away from the village. The parents said the administration of GGHS Ouch was also not ready to admit students of Kotigram.

They complained that the government high school for boys in their village was upgraded to higher secondary level on non-development basis in 2012 but it too lacked science laboratory, examination hall, playground and water supply.

The parents said even the school principal was using the office of a clerk as there was no office for him.

They said more than 500 students were studying in the school without basic facilities. They demanded of the government to construct separate building for first and second year students and provide them all the facilities.
