He was talking to British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew who called on him. Deputy British High Commissioner to India Alex also attended the meeting.

Mr Janjua appreciated the United Kingdom’s efforts for bringing Pakistan and Afghanistan closer.

Matters pertaining to regional security and stability, Pak-Afghan and Pak-India relations came under discussion. Both sides also exchanged views on precarious situation in India-held Kashmir and latest development there.

The adviser said that Pakistan envisaged cordial relations with all, particularly neighbouring countries, and highlighted the indigenous character of the freedom struggle in held Kashmir.

Pakistan, he reiterated, did not believe in militancy and it was committed to supporting the right to self- determination of Kashmiri people. He called for the UK and other major powers to remain associated with the region for keeping intact its strategic balance.
