Waseem 'Falcon Khan' knocks out Valdes to remain on top

Quetta-born professional boxer Mohammad Waseem knocked out Panama's Eliecer Valdes to maintain his first position in WBC rankings on Wednesday.

"I knocked out Panama's fighter in the second round. I am very happy that I have been able to maintain the first position," Waseem said, expressing pleasure and thanking his fans in a video message.

'Falcon Khan' Waseem's latest fight resulted in the sixth consecutive win of his professional career. He first won the flyweight title in July 2016, defeating favourite Jether Oliva from the Philippines.

Waseem is currently training for his much-awaited fight against World Champion Mayweather Junior, expected to take place early next year. Jeff Mayweather, who is also the uncle of Mayweather Junior, is currently coaching Waseem.

Unfortunately, this is only the second time I am hearing about Falcon Khan. This is a great achievement, but we are too occupied with celebrating cricket victories. Every national hero deserves equal recognition and awards!

The all time greatest boxer, Sugar Ray Robinson, (according to Ring Magazine) won his first 154 profession fights with out a loss or a draw. He was in top condition for every one of those fights. In today's world of boxing that record is untouchable.

Everybody, including me, wants to fight Mayweather Jr. for the big pay day. Recently Jeff Horn, who very controversially defeated Pacquiao, challenged him. Amir Khan has been after him for an eternity. And anyone else with two working arms would want to be in the ring with 'Money'. So i ask the writer, how does he know the match Mr Falcon and Floyd is "expected to take place early next year".
