PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Sunday appealed to the people to reaffirm on Eidul Fitr their commitment to maintaining unity and cohesion at all levels.

In an Eid message, the governor stressed the need for the continuity of efforts to ensure peace and stability in the country and develop the atmosphere, wherein economic prosperity and invincible security of the country is guaranteed.

He said Eidul Fitr was a solemn and sacred occasion offering festivities to the faithful to celebrate their accomplishments as a reward from the Almighty Allah for observing fasting during Ramazan.

The governor said the government felt accomplished that since almost all temporarily displaced citizens had returned to their native places in Fata in an amicable atmosphere; rehabilitation and development process was continuing, while and peace and stability was being further strengthened.

“To make Eid solemnised in line with its true spirit, there also is a need for taking the deserving fellows and destitute living in our surroundings along and make sure that everyone enjoys the festivities of this sacred occasion fully,” he said.

In his message, the CM urged Muslims to forge unity in their ranks and join hands for restoration of sustainable peace and development of the country.

He said the people should shun their differences and work for unity and solidarity of the country to foil conspiracies.
