KARACHI: Omar Cricket Club and Inverex defeated their respective rivals in the quarter-finals to enter the semifinals of the first FPS Boulevard Ramzan Cricket Festival here at the Hillpark ground on Saturday.

The first quarter-final was played between Omar CC and Eaton CC. Eaton won the toss and opted to bowl first. Omar CC scored 202-6 in their 20 overs. Fouz-ul- Hasan scored a brilliant 117 while Ahsan Ali supported him with a fine knock of 37. Mohammad Saleem took 2 wickets.

In reply Eaton were bowled out for 197, Usman Javed top scoring with 52 and Saleem scoring 29. For Omar CC Ashiq Ali and Haider Ali grabbed 2 wickets each.

In the second quarter-final, Inverex beat Dubai Hawks by four wickets. Dubai Hawks won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 154-8 with Ebad Khan (36) and Ishtiaq Ahmed (20) batting well. Asghar took 3 and Moazzam and Usama took 2 wickets each.

Inverex then chase down the target in 19.4 overs to finish at 155-6. Arsalan Farzand (59) and Naveed Khan (39) were the salient contributors with the bat. Khalid Khursheed took 3 wickets.

Renowned sports organiser and POA official Asif Azeem was the chief guest on the occasion and awarded the man-of-the-match to Fouz-ul-Hasan. Arsalan and Moazzam were adjudged joint man-of-the-match in the second quarter-final.
