KARACHI, Aug 6: Pakistan umpire Aleem Dar has been nominated by International Cricket Council (ICC) to stand in four Tests England are scheduled to play this winter.

Aleem, who is on the ICC list of international umpires, will be supervising the two Tests England play in Bangladesh, followed by two more in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka’s Tyronne Wijewardena, also on the international panel, will stand in the opening Test of the Pakistan-Bangladesh series in Karachi later this month.

Meanwhile, South African Rudi Koertzen and England’s David Shepherd, who are in the elite panel of umpires, will officiate in India’s two-match home Test against New Zealand in October

For the one-day triangular tournament — also involving world champions Australia — that follows immediately, Shepherd and fellow Englishman Neil Mallender will be the overseas umpires.

Former Sri Lankan skipper Ranjan Madugalle is the nominated match referee for the matches in India.

According to an ICC press release, Koertzen, Shepherd, Steve Bucknor of West Indies and New Zealand’s Brent Bowden will share duties in the four-match Test series between Australia and India, starting in December.
