RAWALPINDI, Aug 4: Amir Jamaat-i-Islami, Punjab, Liaquat Baloch, MNA, on Monday said the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) had adopted a clear-cut stand on the issues of Legal Framework Order and president’s uniform.

In a statement, he said his party was pursuing an agenda that was in the national interest. He said the MMA had asked the government to provide it with a copy of the agreement so that negotiations could take a direction.

The JI leader said an MMA delegation would meet the National Assembly speaker Ch Amir Hussain and ask him to announce the name of the opposition leader.

He said Majlis-i-Amal was the largest parliamentary group in parliament. He further said the MMA had contested the polls under one sign and their candidate was Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Mr Baloch said the Alliance had already announced its decision to hold a public meeting on August 14 and it had applied for designation of site for the public meeting. “If the friends from the Alliance participate in the meeting, they are welcome.”
