SADIQABAD, Aug 4: A son of a Liaquatpur-based landlord, kidnapped five days ago, was released on Monday after paying Rs500,000 ransom to the Bhindani gang of dacoits operating in Rajanpur.

Reports said Jam Yousaf Unar, son of landlord Jam Rashid of Unran town (Liaquatpur), was kidnapped five days ago by a gang of dacoits, which demanded Rs5 million ransom within 15 days.

However, after settling the amount at Rs500,000, the landlord crossed the Indus from where he got his son back.

NEW CARS DAMAGED: A trailer, carrying a consignment of new cars, overturned causing damage to several cars near Zahir Pir on the GT Road on Sunday.

Reports said a trailer (LSA-3646) was making for Islamabad from Karachi, carrying a consignment of a dozen of new cars, when it overturned near a petrol pump.

Almost all the cars worth millions of rupees were partially or completely damaged.
