PPI ADDS: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to launch a forceful drive against illegal encroachments in Nurpur Shahan and adjoining localities of the federal capital.
Decision to remove encroachments was taken when the security agencies declared the katchi abadis as security threat due to their closeness with the Presidency, the Prime Minister House and Diplomatic Enclave.
Authorities have decided to issue notices for voluntarily vacation of the illegal encroachments within 15 days.
In case of failure to remove encroachments, the forceful operation would be launched to remove all encroachments.
The government has approved inclusion of the encroached site in the national park area. This land was acquired by the Capital Development Authority on full payment to the owners in 1968.
Later, encroachers constructed mud houses illegally, which would be demolished within 15 days, officials said.
