Another breakdown hits KE system

KARACHI: The citizens on Monday suffered another power breakdown when electricity supply got suspended in major parts of the metropolis.

The breakdown occurred between the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

The areas which suffered the electricity failure included Nazimabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Malir, Korangi, Lines Area, New Karachi, Safoora, Site and others.

The supply was not restored till filing of this report at late night.

The K-Electric spokesperson said that the breakdown occurred because of the tripping of extra-high tension wire, which disrupted the supply in ‘some parts’ of the city. The affected localities were identified as PECHS, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Nazimabad. The official said that efforts were under way to restore the supply.

@azadi dil KI "Learn from India, how it turned it's cities from power cuts in recent times." What's there to learn my friend. All it needs is a sincere will and honest actions. Increase in Generating capacity is first. At reasonable rates and ideal fuel. Distribution over-haul, a still ongoing task in India is the next step and has to be done keeping the correct forecasted demand in sight. Pakistan can learn a lot from India, honestly, having inherited the same structure and having a similar political format. But Pakistan is always hell bent on doing things differently or should I say "not like India'.

KE is good for only one thing. And that is fleecing its customers by sending inflated bills.
