RAWALPINDI, Aug 4: Pakistan Workers Confederation (PWC) will hold a peaceful protest march on Tuesday to press the government for the acceptance of their demands. The PWC general secretary, Khursheed Ahmad, said the march was being hold to remind the government the problems being faced by the workers in different sectors.
The demands include amending and repealing the outdated anti-labourer laws, which are repugnant to the fundamental rights guaranteed in the Constitution.
They union leaders have also demanded raise in wages of workers engaged in the private sectors, restoration of move-over, provision of selection grade and gratuity, which had been withdrawn from the national pay scales since 2001, grant of house rent on the basis of basic pay.
