PESHAWAR: Three persons were electrocuted and two injured in Gulbahar area here on Sunday.

A child of Afghan family living in Gulbahar was playing with a steel rod on the rooftop of his house, when it touched a heavy transmission line going over the house at a low altitude.

While trying to rescue the child, his father Kabir Khan, his son and a relative were killed on the spot, while the minor and his mother were injured and shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.

Meanwhile, the city police on Sunday arrested 22 persons for alleged involvement in the ransacking of Pajagi grid station.

The personnel of Mathra police station raided the houses of the protesters and arrested 22 persons, according to a press release.

During a protest against excessive power outages on Saturday, a few protesters entered the grid station and ransacked the offices.

After the incident, security of all grid stations has been enhanced as more protests are looming over hours long power outages. Police have also arranged a coordination meeting of MPAs and Pesco to sort out the issue.
