THIS refers to the front page news item ‘Be ready for action at short notice, Indian air force officers told’ (May 22). It was a message by the Indian air chief along with his picture.

One of the world’s most distinguished editor of Washington Post stated many years ago that newspapers should strive to print news that have a high degree of relevance, interest and value to its readers.

Going by the above, I failed to find the relevance and purpose of this news item about a statement by the Indian air chief.

If a similar message was issued by Pakistan Air Force chief, would it be printed on the front page by Times of India?
