LAHORE, Aug 3: The government has decided to develop a nursery street on Peco Road in Township and a flower garden at Hamdard Chowk.
This was stated by Task Force for Environment and Culture chairman and chief minister’s adviser Azam Rashid here on Sunday. He said the nursery street and flower garden portions would be allotted for floriculture through auction.
He said removal of encroachments and hoardings had already been started from Peco Road stretch between Akbar Chowk and Wapda Town. Both sides of drain flowing in the middle of College Road would also be improved to prevent overflow of rainwater.
He said the government had also decided to renovate all underpasses and fix new boards and lights there. Flower baskets were also proposed to be placed around electricity poles.
He said the government departments had submitted cost estimates of Rs50 million for the plan. It was, however, being executed free of cost now with the cooperation of donor agencies.
