PESHAWAR: UC Nazim shot dead

PESHAWAR, Aug 3: A union council Nazim was shot dead and his two friends were seriously injured when unknown assailants opened fire on the double cabin pick-up they were travelling in at Warana near Ahmadabad in Karak district, some 160km south of here, on Saturday evening.

The Nazim of Warana union council, Haji Azalmir, was going home with his two friends in his pick-up (3925-D, Peshawar) from Karak town when they were attacked near Warana village. As a result, the three sustained bullet injuries.

The injured were taken to Karak district headquarters hospital, where Haji Azalmir died before getting any medical aid.—Bureau
