A curfew has been imposed in Mohmand Agency after information was received that six suicide bombers had entered the agency, an officer of the political administration said.

The curfew was imposed as a preventative measure, the officer said, adding that the agency has been at security risk for quite some time now.

Law enforcement personnel, speaking to Dawn.com, said they had been instructed to shoot if they saw anything suspicious.

Educational institutions, offices and market places were closed down after the curfew was imposed and a blanket ban was placed on any social activity.

The district headquarters hospital was also locked-up and all other medial clinics shuttered.
