KOHAT: Another four men sentenced to death by military courts for heinous offences — including killing innocent civilians, destroying communications and electricity infrastructure, destroying educational institutions, and attacking personnel of armed forces and other law enforcement agencies — have been hanged.

All of them belonged to the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and confessed to having committed the crimes they were charged with, said a statement of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.

Those executed were: Muhammad Ibrahim (son of Maseen), who was involved in fatal attacks on armed forces personnel; Rizwanullah (son of Taj Mir Khan), who killed a civilian and wounded many armed forces men in an attack; Sardar Ali (son of Muhammad Akram Khan), who attacked army men and destroyed an educational institution; and Sher Muhammad Khan (son of Ahmed Khan), who was involved in attacks that resulted in martyrdom of and injuries to armed forces personnel.

Meanwhile, according to a fact sheet released by the Justice Project Pakistan, to date 63 convicts have been executed after being sentenced to death by military courts.
