Russian Rhythm completes treble

GOODWOOD (England), Aug 2: Russian Rhythm, ridden by Kieren Fallon, completed a big race treble with a battling victory by a neck in the Group One Nassau Stakes on Saturday.

Winner of the English 1,000 Guineas and the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, Russian Rhythm, the 4-5 favourite, had to come off the inside at a critical point.

However the filly just got the better of French raider Ana Marie, a 14-1 chance partnered by Richard Hughes.

Eight went to post in the 10-furlong (2 km) contest, the highlight of the final day of the five-day Glorious Goodwood meeting.

Winning trainer Michael Stoute said: “She lost momentum at the vital stage and we didn’t want to pull out so wide...but she really dug deep.”—Reuters
