VEHARI: A class eight student of the Government Elementary School, 190/EB, who was allegedly tortured by his two teachers in school on Monday died at the Vehari District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital on Wednesday.

The Vehari Sadar police said teachers Munaza Dilshad and Nabeel punished severely beat Abrar Ahmed for not doing his homework on Monday. Abrar received serious injuries and was admitted to the Vehari DHQ Hospital for treatment.

On Wednesday evening, he died at the hospital. Deputy Commissioner Ali Akbar Bhatti suspended both teachers and ordered an inquiry into the incident.

Sadar police investigation officer Jawed said that a first information report would be registered after the autopsy report.

Both teachers had left their houses after the death of the student, police claimed.
