Man shot dead by dacoits

Published January 4, 2002

KASUR, Jan 3: Dacoits on Thursday shot dead a man and took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables in two different strikes in and around the city.

Reports reaching here revealed three dacoits barged into Liaquat Ali’s house in Haveli Sadiq Wali, Wadana, and shot him dead. Residents of the locality claimed he was killed on putting up resistance.

Later, the people blocked the traffic on the Lahore-Kasur Road and condemned police inefficiency to curb crime. They dispersed on the assurance of the Kasur SSP that the culprits would soon be nabbed. — Correspondent
