QUETTA: The federal government has appointed Aurangzeb Haque, a BS-22 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, chief secretary of Balochistan.

According to an official source, Mr Haque will replace Shoaib Mir, who has been transferred.

They said Mr Haque was working as the secretary of the Narcotics Control Division before his appointment as chief secretary.

Mr Mir was made chief secretary in March. He had replaced Saifullah Chattah who had served the province as chief secretary for three years. It could not be immediately known where Mr Mir has been transferred.
