FAISALABAD: The Crime Investigation Agency claimed that the two accused who escaped police custody were killed in the firing of their own accomplices near Roshanwali Bypass on Wednesday night.

CIA Inspector Zafar Ora, submitting the application to the police, said an applicant of a robbery case registered with the Saddar police named Fayyaz alias Usman Mota of Azad Kashmir and Qaiser Abbas of Chak 106-RB, Khchian Barnala.

He said ASI Qamarul Zaman succeeded to arrest them and Abbas confessed to killing Madina Town SHO Nadeem Anjum and his gunman Shahzad near City Bus Station. Similarly, Mota confessed to killing two constables in the Millat Town police jurisdiction.

The accused also said they had also snatched an SMG from the police. For recovery of the weapon, the police took the accused to Roshanwala Bypass when their six fellows opened fire on the police and some bullets hit Abbas and Mota who breathed their last.

However, their accomplices managed to escape from the scene.
