QUETTA: The Baloch­is­tan government has released Rs200 million for the Jour­nalists’ Welfare Fund which was announced by the Chief Minister, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri in his budget speech.

The Finance Department, officials sources said on Tuesday, had issued a notification in regard to the release of fund. Earlier, the allocation was Rs30m which had been raised to Rs200m.

Mr Zehri expressing solidarity on the eve of the World Media Freedom Day paid tributes to the journalist community. He said that the journalists were performing their duties under pressure with honesty, determination and courage in difficult and hard situations.
