A man holding dual nationality, Pakistani and American, allegedly killed his wife in a hotel situated in the Saddar area of Karachi early Sunday morning and fled to Dubai.

A newly-wed woman was found dead inside a hotel room in the wee hours of Sunday, with the police suspecting a homicide.

Farheen, 28-years old, was found hanging from a ceiling fan while her husband, Shaheer, was missing. Police officials later learnt that he had fled to Dubai on an early morning flight.

“The very fact that her husband managed to flee abroad gives sufficient reason to the investigators to treat as a murder case,” said SSP South Saqib Ismail Memon.

He added that a First Information Report has been registered on the complaint of the victim’s murder and the couple had a love marriage.

The victim’s mother alleged that the couple had an argument few days ago and the husband used to physically abuse her.

The police official also said the suspect’s father has told the police that his son was an American citizen.

Police is investigating the case.
