AS a teacher, I am sick of people who know nothing about school rules and regulations and just blame teachers for everything that goes wrong.

Teachers are not the problem; it is parents who are the real problem. The latter do not teach their children any manners, including how to respect their elders and teachers.

Students come to schools with expensive cellphones but do not have any pencils/pens and notebooks. Who provides them all these facilities? Teachers often provide them all these from their own pockets.

When you look at schools that are ‘failing’, do parents talk with classteachers to learn about the problems of their children? Do they make sure that their children have all the necessary supplies? Do they make sure their children do their homework?

Many students go to school without wearing their uniform. When they are sent back, their parents put pressure on the teachers to allow their children to attend class.

Until parents do their job and accept responsibility for their chidren, nothing is going to improve.
