MULTAN, July 30: Three people drowned in river Indus when a boat capsized near Sheedani area of Rahim Yar Khan district on Wednesday.

Reports reaching here said that seven members of a family set off for Mauza Chohan on the eastern bank of the Indus from their riverine settlement in a boat along with a sailor.

When the boat reached in the centre of the river

The sailor lost control over the boat reportedly because of thunderstorm and water flow.

Four occupants of the boat swam to the banks but Ashu Mai, Nazeeran Bibi and Adeel Rehman drowned.

Divers could recover the body of Ashu only when search had to be abandoned because of sunset.
