GUJRAT: Pakistani expatriates settled in Norway and other European countries have lodged a strong protest over the alleged physical torturer of women belonging to a Norwegian family of Pakistani origin by officials of the Federal Investigation Agency at Islamabad airport.

The women were traveling to Oslo from Islamabad last week.

Qamar Iqbal, the Chairman of Pakistan Union Norway, said in a statement that the local Pakistani community settled in Oslo had strongly been gripped by the violent incident against one of the families belonging to Oslo and the union would lodge its protest with the Pakistani embassy in Oslo on Thursday.

He said incidents of misbehaving with expatriate communities at the Pakistani airports had become a regular feature.

He said mere suspension of FIA officials involved in the torture of women passengers was not enough and demanded their dismissals.

He said that the Pakistan Union Norway had also demanded a complete inquiry into the matter of submission of a written apology by the father of the victim woman Haseena Begum. According to him, the pressure and long arm tactics of law enforcement agencies in Pakistan would often compel victims of lawlessness to resort to such things.
