The counsel for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday submitted all the supporting evidence against batsman Khalid Latif before the Anti-Corruption Tribunal constituted by PCB, following which the tribunal asked Latif to submit his reply on May 5, 2017, read a statement issued by PCB.

The Anti-Corruption Tribunal, constituted by PCB to investigate the spot-fixing scandal which unearthed during the Pakistan Super League earlier this year, directed that the parties “would not make any comments regarding the contents of the evidence presented to this tribunal, or on the merits of the present proceedings.”

The tribunal met on Friday under the chairmanship of Justice (retd) Asghar Haider. The proceedings began following an hour’s delay due to the fact that Khalid Latif was awaiting the decision of the Lahore High Court (LHC).

Latif had filed a writ petition before LHC, challenging the constitution of the tribunal. However, his petition was dismissed by the court after hearing arguments of PCB, read the PCB statement.

The evidence submitted by the PCB against Latif includes, amongst other material, witness statements, recorded interviews, recovered material, match footage, and copies of certain WhatsApp voice messages.

“Latif, through his counsel, also filed a miscellaneous application. However, the said application was dismissed by the Anti-Corruption Tribunal,” read the PCB statement.
