KARACHI: Lauding the ju-jitsu training camp organised here on Friday, director of the Cultural Centre of Consulate General of Japan Jun Ikeda said such healthy activities would boost the relationship between Pakistan and Japan.

The camp was organised by the Sindh Ju-jitsu Association (SJJA) in collaboration with the Consulate of Japan, Karachi.

“This wonderful effort of organising the ju-jitsu camp will further strengthen the relationship between Pakistan and Japan. Japanese Consulate will keep supporting such [positive] activities in future as well,” said Ikeda while addressing the awards ceremony of the third Advanced Ju-jitsu Training Camp that concluded at the Japan Cultural Centre, Japan Consulate on Friday.

Ikeda acknowledged the efforts made by SJJA secretary and former Pakistan jujitsu coach Tariq Ali for organising the camp.

Tariq, meanwhile, said the purpose of organising the camp at Japanese Consulate was to demonstrate that Pakistan had loads of talent in jujitsu, adding that the country held a significant place in the sport at world and Asian levels.

According to Tariq, Pakistan will feature in the World Games 2017 (July) and Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games 2017 (September) to be held in Poland and Turkmenistan, respectively.
