KARACHI: Mayor Wasim Akhtar on Friday visited Bagh Ibne Qasim and said Karachi Metropolitan Corporation had launched the long-ignored park’s facelift project to make it a favourite spot for families.

“[All the] parks of the city will be made better for people to visit with their families,” said Mr Akhtar while speaking to reporters during his visit to the park.

He said no one would be allowed to set up marriage lawns inside the parks.

“We have begun work on the facelift of Bagh Ibne Qasim with 200 of our staff working on it.”

He claimed that all departments had been destroyed during the past eight years in the city. However, he said his team was working hard to improve the departments, and that all political parties were supporting them.

He said wardens had been deployed across the parks in the city to safeguard them.
