Published July 29, 2003

LAHORE, July 28: The city district government will organize an independence day rally on Aug 14.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held here on Monday with district Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood in chair.

The rally will begin from the Nasser Bagh in the evening and conclude at the Faisal Chowk on The Mall.

The meeting was told that independence day celebrations in the city would commence with the unfurling of the national flag on the Lahore Fort. Floral wreaths would be laid at the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal later.

A floodlit cricket match would also played at the Qadhafi Stadium on August 13. — Reporter
