KARACHI: Monthly Subh-e-Nau National Hard Court Tennis Championship will be played at Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) courts in Islamabad from April 7.

The championship was scheduled to be held at PTF clay courts. However, the organisers shifted the event to hard courts mainly due to the renovated facility at the PSB.

The event carries a prize purse of Rs300,000. Outstation players will receive daily allowance while economy-class train tickets will be given to top junior players.

Players in six different categories — men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s singles, boys’ juniors U-18, boys’ U-14 and U-10 — will be seen in action.

Mahvish Chishtie, a former national champion, will be the tournament director. Interested players can contact tournament referee Shehzad Akhtar Alvi at 0333-5158971 for entries. Last date for entry is April 5.
