LAHORE: A group of lawyers allegedly tortured two traffic wardens on Thursday and also damaged an official vehicle after exchanging hot words on the issue of fining their colleague.

The incident took place at Kalma Chowk where the traffic wardens had stopped the vehicle of a lawyer.

Naseerabad police said the lawyer, yet to be identified, started argument with wardens Imran and Saif when they demanded from him registration book.

Meanwhile, the lawyer called his other colleagues who, after reaching the site, thrashed the wardens.

The police said the assailants also damaged official car and left the scene after hurling threats.

The affected wardens filed an application against the unknown lawyers to lodge a case.
