Indus in medium flood at Chashma

LAHORE, July 27: Indus was in medium flood at Chashma, Ravi was in low flood at Sidhnai while all other rivers were flowing normal on Sunday.

The Flood Forecasting Division expects no significant change in the rivers’ flow during the next 24 hours.

According to a report of the Flood Forecasting Division, Indus was in low flood at Tarbela, Kalabagh, Taunsa, Guddu and Sukkur.

The water level in Indus was receding at Chashma, Tarbela and Kalabagh while it was steady at Kotri and rising at Taunsa, Guddu and Sukkur.

Fairly widespread rain of light to moderate intensity with heavy falls at one or two places over Sargodha division; heavy falls at one or two places over the upper catchment of Chenab, Kohat and Faisalabad divisions and scattered rain of light to moderate intensity with one or two heavy falls over Rawalpindi, Gujranwala , Lahore and Hyderabad divisions were reported during the last 24 hours.

Thundershowers of light to moderate intensity also fell over the upper catchment of river Jhelum, Peshawar, Kalat, Multan divisions and northeastern Balochistan. Moderate rain also occurred over Dera ISmail Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Karachi divisions, upper catchment of the Ravi.—APP
