Milk quality

Published March 29, 2017

PLEASE refer to your report ‘What are we drinking in the name of milk?’ (EOS, March 19). It totally fails to take into account the hearing by the Supreme Court of this case held on March 9. In this hearing the court issued an order, with the section relating to Haleeb Milk reading, “As per the report submitted by PFA (Punjab Food Authority), the milk produced / processed by Haleeb Foods Ltd is fit for human consumption.”

This clearly vindicates our position that the Haleeb-brand milk is of the highest quality and has always been produced under stringent quality control procedures, following national and international standards, including ISO and HACCP.

Your story was based on the testing carried out by various laboratories late last year, in which only one laboratory had reservations against Haleeb Milk, whereas all other laboratories had confirmed at that time also that Haleeb Milk was fit for human consumption.
