Change in agenda opposed

Published July 28, 2003

QUETTA, July 27: Opposition leader in the Balochistan Assembly, Kachkol Ali Baloch, on Saturday urged the provincial government to table the Gwadar development authority bill on Monday according to the agenda.

In a statement issued here, he said the assembly secretariat had distributed the agenda on Saturday among the MPAs for the assembly proceedings of Monday, according to which the bill would be tabled.

The leader supported the presentation of the bill and said that if it was needed, suggestions would be made about the establishment of the authority.

He claimed that the federal government had expressed anguish over tabling of the bill as it wanted to establish federal authority on Gwadar.
