MINGORA, July 27: The women wing of Jamaat-i-Islami, Swat, has appreciated the steps taken by the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal government for the enforcement of Shariat and Hisba acts.

The JI women workers observed a thanks-giving day here on Sunday on the passage of Shariat Bill by the provincial assembly.

Mrs Bilquis Hussain, provincial chief of JI women wing, Mrs Zahida Karam, chief of JI Malakand, Mrs Badrun Nisa, chief of JI Swat, Jameela Ahmad MNA, and MPAs Nargis Zain and Saira Shakir spoke on the occasion.

Mrs Nargis Zain said the MMA government was concentrating on finding solutions to the women’s problems and ensuring their rights. She said that the approval of a women’s medical college and a women university were examples of its balanced and moderate policies.

She said western forces were busy in making negative propaganda against Islam and the MMA government.

Mrs Jameela Ahmad said the MMA was making efforts to improve the life of the poor. She also congratulated the participants on the MMA’s success in getting Shariat Bill passed by the assembly.

She said the JI was against the recognition of Israel as it was not just a Palestinian or Arab-specific issue, rather it was related to the entire Islamic world. She said that the Hisba Act would pave the way for the enforcement of Shariat in the province.

On this occasion, a number of resolutions were adopted unanimously. The participants demanded early solution to the Palestinian and Kashmir issues and asked the government to enforce the Hisba Act without any delay.
