KARACHI, July 27: The provincial minister for women development and chairperson of Madar-e-Millat organizing committee, Dr Saeeda Malik, held a meeting in her office to finalize the arrangements for celebrating 110th birth anniversary of Madar-i-Millat in a befitting manner on July 31.
The meeting was attended by advisor to the chief minister on information, secretary culture and tourism, additional secretary women development and social welfare.
The minister informed the participants of the meeting that arrangements had been made to celebrate the birth anniversary of Fatima Jinnah on a large scale for the first time. She said that big seminars and cultural programes would be held in all the provinces to commemorate the day.
She said that a big seminar at the federal level was being arranged for July 31, where the prime minister would be the chief guest. In the evening, a memorable seminar would be held, in which personalities close to Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah would be invited. The chief minister would be the chief guest, she added.
Earlier, in the morning the chief minister, accompanied by his cabinet members, will visit the Mazar-i-Quaid and Mazar-i- Madar-i-Millat and offer ‘fateha’.
Dr Saeeda said that seminars would also be held in various cities of the province at district level, whereas the department of culture would organize cultural programmes which were being organized by the provincial minister for culture, Shabbir Ahmad Qaimkhawni.—PPI
