Rampaging lawyers

Published March 26, 2017

APRPOS Irfan Husain’s article ‘Rampaging lawyers’. It was laudable that someone writes about it. It is widely regarded that the police perform a perilous duty in difficult circumstances. They face criminals while bringing them to courts for prosecution after detailed investigations. They also do hard duty at different checkposts, police stations, at the residence of VIPs and maintain traffic dicipline, as well as protect the people at large. In view of all this, the atrocities and rude behaviour is condemnable.

The lawyers’ rude behaviour against ASI Javed Sultan in the presence of Magistrate Jawwad Hussain Adil is a stigma. It is not for the fisrt time that a policeman was beaten by lawyers, but many more incidents happened in the past. It is time that licences of such lawyers were cancelled at once, and an ‘FIR’ registered.
