LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah has made his salary/perks public and also appointed a public information officer under the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act 2013.

A release issued by the LHC media cell on Friday states that the chief justice draws Rs1.0538 million per month salary which includes substantive pay of Rs713,280, special judicial allowance of Rs269,525 and medical allowance of Rs67,733.

The chief justice does not receive entitled monthly house rent of Rs65,000 as he lives in an official residence.

The information has also been forwarded to the Punjab Information Commission.

Through a notification issued by the LHC registrar, deputy registrar Shahbaz Ashraf has been appointed as public information officer at the court.

A couple of days ago, the Punjab Information Commission had asked the LHC registrar to provide information to an applicant about the monthly salary and other benefits of the chief justice.
