ISLAMABAD, July 26: Shahrukh Niazi, Tanveer Ashiq and Omer Babar qualified for the semifinals by beating their respective opponents in the National Junior Invitational Tennis Tournament at PTF Tennis complex on Saturday.
Shahrukh Niazi of Punjab eliminated Amir Ali Khan of Sindh in straight set by playing powerful game from baseline. He won the match at 6-2, 6-2.
Omer Babar of Punjab won his marathon encounter against Danish Ahmed of Sindh. He won the match 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. The match lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes.
The 4th quarterfinal between Yasir Khan and Usman Ijaz remained unfinished due to bad light.
In the doubles event, Shahrukh Niazi/Tanveer Ashiq advanced to the finals beating Nomanul Haq/Shaheen Khan of 6-2, 6-2.
