Young man drowns

HARIPUR, July 26: A young man drowned in Khanpur dam here on Friday evening.

Irfan, 24, son of Mohammad Yaqub, resident of Gawalmandi, Rawalpindi, had come to Khanpur dam along with some of his friends. According to one of his friends, Irfan began bathing near the spillway and slipped into deep waters and drowned.

His body was recovered and handed over to his family members after undergoing autopsy at the Civil Hospital Khanpur.  

It is the fourth drowning incident that has taken place at the same place. However, dam authorities have yet to look into the matter.
