NOWSHERA, July 26: Federal Minister for Water and Power Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has asked the MMA government to focus its attention on improving the law and order situation in the province.

Talking to newsmen here on Saturday, the minister expressed his concern over an incident in which a UN vehicle was fired at, saying that world donors had already suspended their funding to the development projects in the province, and the incident would further aggravate the situation.

He said that due to the policies adopted by the MMA government the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and German donor agencies had suspended their operations.

The provincial government should look to improve the security situation in the NWFP to attract foreign investment, he said.

Mr Sherpao said the government should give more incentives to the tobacco growers instead of burdening them with taxes, he added.
