KARACHI, July 26: Awami National Party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan has said that the Durand Line is not a line drawn by a human being but was determined by hilltops.

Speaking to ANP provincial council members at the Bacha Khan Centre in Karachi, he said in the Mohmund Agency even this was not determined.

He further elaborated that under the Gundmak agreement, it was specifically mentioned that in the tribal area, known as buffer zone, Pakistan and Afghanistan would not send their armies without prior consultations.

Mr Asfandyar Wali warned that violation of this international agreement was fraught with dangerous consequences.

He said as far the ANP stance on Kashmir was concerned, it was a political issue and could not be resolved by force and had to be resolved through dialogue. “We stand for good relations with all the neighbouring countries.”

The ANP chief said his party organized a seminar in Karachi when no one was speaking against the LFO, as no individual had the right to make an amendment in the constitution which was the sole prerogative of the parliament.

Vice President Haji Ghulam Muhammad Bilour said the strong centre had created complications, and the provinces be granted provincial autonomy. District party presidents presented their reports.
